The design of the bridge came after a specific site analysis based on historical and artistic topics: the Romans existing buildings and infrastructure and the Leonardo Da Vinci’s studies and sketches, as well as his inspiring structural projects. The bridge design uses numerology; actually, the number 7 is really used in Arezzo and linked to different items; the bridge itself is therefore designed with the progression of seven couple of arches whose curve is lowered to obtain a smooth shape. Regarding the architectural and structural principles, the bridge is related to another one that is visually connected and was built in the XIII century. The route is parallel, and they have the same number of arches; only the material is different. For the new bridge, steel was chosen to highlight the new modernity and technological importance of technology applied to mobility.
