In northern Italy, a highly technological chemical-industrial complex is planning a renovation.
In the common areas, we designed offices and laboratories using wood as the primary material to create a connection with the previous buildings and the historical industrial landscape. The building’s shape resembles that of a chemical molecule, an homage to the company’s research work. To make the project highly sustainable, we utilize specific design strategies and choose laminated timber, a material with great climate compensation, which is driving the changeover from steel and concrete.
