The project redevelops the former headquarters of a public insurance institution in central Milan as a strategic urban hinge, combining the Milanese tradition of architectural quality with the evolving needs of post-Covid workplaces. The intervention preserves the existing scale and proportions while introducing a contemporary identity centered on sustainability, user wellbeing, and green integration. Conceived as an “office platform,” the building prioritizes flexibility and experience through glazed skyboxes, green terraces, and a layout that balances a representative street frontage with informal courtyard spaces. A dynamic façade with external shading blades enhances daylight control and energy performance. Geothermal systems, rooftop photovoltaics, smart technologies, and BIM-based structural upgrading define a high-performance, future-oriented retrofit model.
